Each year as I welcome the new year, I find myself welcoming my birthday as well. Women are perhaps not always so fond of being reminded of their aging but still I get that warm feeling when I opened my facebook profile yesterday and saw nearly 50 posts on my wall and received several text messages on my phone to send me birthday wishes.

Thank you for remembering. Thank you for always being so supportive. Thank you for your friendship. Thank you for giving me the faith to continue to sing and perform.

Thank you for making me feel like a superstar! :D

Leehom’s Macau concert: My friend took this pix from where she sits… it’s a bit blurry but I love it ’cause it’s my first on-stage pix from Leehom concert!

  1. Greetings,

I have been reading your blog for a while now and am very much amazed by everything you do. I am, too, striving for a life as a free-lance musician/dancer/photographer (so far unsuccessful). As of today, I am a programmer at a small web firm in Davis Sq.

I’d like to thank you for the quote–』dare to dream, dare to live life to the fullness.』 I agree with it wholeheartedly. Life is ought to be lived with true human energies. And you are a great living example. Believe it or not, your existence brings me much hope.

Wish you continue living the life you desire. Wish us all happiness.

  2. Thank you so much Christine! Your message makes all the hard work worthwhile. :) I do think I have been very lucky since I decided to pursue a career in singing 2 years ago but I have also learned that it is very important not to lose faith even when it may seem like you are not going anywhere… Keep up the good work and keep me posted on your progress, will you?

So you work in Davis Sq.? I used to go there for ice cream and coffee… :) Reading your message brings back lots of fond memories as well.

    Have a great 2009!!

  3. I also like ”dare to dream, dare to live life to the fullness.” I’d suggest applying the positive meanings of this saying to maximize the life style that fits you best. It may or may not be good to follow Ying-ying’s track…

  4. Ying Ying, thanks for your response. I will let you know how things go. I am looking into quitting my job this year and heading back to Taipei. It just seems like I need sometime to dive into things that I love to reconstruct a life with passions. Programming is devouring my soul. It’s just so easily to be accustomed to the mundaneness of daily routines and the mechanical exactness of this highly industrialized society and forget our original human passion, isn’t it? It’s so easy to live a life see without seeing, hear without hearing, live without living. I hope we are forever spared of it. Thanks for being a great encouragement in my life.

I currently live right off Harvard Square, which is not very far from Davis luckily. It’s freezing cold here in Cambridge (10F). I miss ice cream and some mango sweetness in the air. Hope it’s still blowing warm breeze in Taipei.

Have a great 2009 to you, too!
